This is a free online newsletter for Jason Stahl, Executive Director of the College Football Players Association (CFBPA). If you’d like to sign up for the newsletter, you can do so by clicking the subscribe button above. If you’d like to financially support our efforts at the CFBPA you can do that here. If you are a past, present or future college football player, I ask that you consider becoming a member of the CFBPA.
In the summer of 2020, Pac-12 college football players organized the WeAreUnited movement which sent shock waves through the college football world. Although short-lived, this movement, and its eventual unity with the broader WeWantToPlay movement, led to the first call by college football players for the creation of a College Football Players Association. These movements inspired me to take up the cause of making the CFBPA a reality. It is why we are where we are today with the formation of this new institution.
Given this history, it gives me great pleasure to introduce the newest member of our Leadership Committee: Kassidy Woods. Kassidy was an unquestioned leader in the player empowerment movement of summer 2020 and so, in many ways, with his entrance to the Leadership Committee, it feels like we have come full circle and begun the revival of that movement. As you’ll see from Kassidy’s full biography at our website, he has truly shown what it means to be a leader. He has sacrificed his own livelihood and status in the name of a cause greater than himself. We are blessed to have him involved with this institution.
As a reminder, we are in the midst of our Summer Membership Drive during which we already announced the first three planks of our CFBPA Platform for Change. I will, of course, have more updates forthcoming as the events of the Summer Membership Drive unfold.
