Congressional Testimony on Tuesday
Our VP Justin Falcinelli Testifies on the Future of College Athletics
This is a free online newsletter for Jason Stahl, Executive Director of the College Football Players Association (CFBPA). If you are a past, present or future college football player, I ask that you consider becoming a member of the CFBPA. For a short YouTube introduction on the CFBPA, click here. Members of the general public who would like to support the CFBPA can donate at this link or volunteer at this link.
I just wanted to drop a quick newsletter to let everyone know that Justin Falcinelli, the Vice President of the College Football Players Association, will be testifying tomorrow, Tuesday March 4, at a hearing in the U.S. Congress. Entitled, “Moving the Goalposts: How NIL is Reshaping College Athletics,” the hearing will be held in front of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, specifically the Commerce, Manufacturing and Trade Subcommittee. The hearing will begin at 10:15 a.m. (Eastern Time).
You can find full information on the hearing, including a streaming link for those who want to watch live, at the following link. Justin will be giving oral testimony and will be taking questions as part of a panel of five. The oral testimony will be taken from Justin’s full written testimony which you can find online at this link.
We’re honored that the CFBPA has once again been invited to testify before Congress. This is now our third appearance testifying in Congressional hearings, but this is the first time a CFBPA member and former college football player has testified on our behalf. I’m honored to have Justin representing us in D.C. and could not imagine a better person to represent college football players past, present and future. I’ve worked closely with Justin for three and a half years now and he knows the issues better than anyone while at the same time having played college football at the highest level. For those who don’t know, Justin was a Clemson offensive lineman for the 2014-2018 seasons. He was a two-year starter, first team all-ACC center, honorable mention all-American and a two-time College Football Playoff National Champion. Academically, he received Clemson’s Top Male Scholar Athlete Award in 2018 and holds an MBA from Clemson.
We are honored to have Justin testify on behalf of the CFBPA and hope you can all find the time to watch.
